For Change Makers

For more than 30 years, the Yale Urban Design Workshop has collaborated with city neighborhoods, non-profits, chambers of commerce, city planning departments, citizen groups, and developers on projects ranging from comprehensive plans, economic development strategies and community visions to the design of public spaces, streetscapes and individual community facilities.

Led by YUDW faculty directors, we bring together faculty and students from the School of Architecture and across the university to work on these projects. We have developed several areas of expertise and have worked with communities across Connecticut and around the world. Effective community engagement and inclusion is a cornerstone of our practice.
