Knight Architecture
In 2017, the Yale Urban Design Workshop, in conjunction with Knight Architecture, was retained to develop a vision plan for the Yale School of Nursing. The School had moved to Yale’s West Campus, a former pharmaceutical company headquarters, in 2013, and was about to significantly expand its student body. To get ready for this expansion the School wanted to focus on making a series of improvements to the facility based on student, faculty and staff feedback from the first 5 years of occupancy. The plan focused on providing new spaces for teaching and learning, improving occupants health and wellness, improving the sense of community and identity within the facility, aid increasing connections with other parts of campus.
