Areas of Research

For over 30 years, the Yale Urban Design Workshop has worked with communities, cities, towns, and organizations to address challenges and identify potentials through research-based design processes. In that time, the Workshop has developed robust research and expertise around key areas impacting communities both locally and globally.

Areas of expertise and ongoing research include Post-Industrial Towns and Cities, Community Facilities, Public Space Heritage and Identity, Neighborhood Planning, Climate Resilience and Adaptation, and Affordable Housing.
